Alabaster Homes (Alabaster) is a locally owned and managed real estate development company that specializes in mid-size multifamily projects, with a current focus in Vancouver and Richmond. Founded by partners with over 30 years of experience in the Metro Vancouver development industry, the company prides itself on its unique ability to collaborate with top designers, consultants, and construction partners. Over the past six years, the partners of Alabaster have carefully assembled a committed team, and an enviable portfolio of development properties within some of the most desirable locations. To help support our strong growth, we are seeking a bright and meticulous professional to join our finance team.

The individual in this role will be reporting to the VP, Finance at our Vancouver office. Core responsibilities will include:

  • Updating and maintaining project proforma and cash flows to support decision making and reporting
  • Providing monthly updates on actual project cash flows versus budgeted
  • Assisting with project financing due diligence
  • Creating and managing Alabaster’s databases and performing specific analyses for comparison and forecasting
  • Assisting with monthly reporting to management and investors
  • Assisting the Finance Team with ad hoc analyses to support key project decisions
  • Managing and updating the rent roll for all operating properties
  • Analyzing and extracting insights from real estate market statistics and perform monthly updates
  • Assisting with acquisitions due diligence
  • Providing support during the completion stage of residential construction
  • Additional job tasks as required



It goes without saying – you have strong analytical skills and are naturally investigative.  You are detail-oriented and enjoy statistics and spotting trends.  You are committed to the highest ethical standard and take pride in our tradition of excellent service to our customers, consultants, trades, suppliers and working partners. In addition to these qualities, you possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Urban Land Economics or a related field
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Financial modelling experience in Excel is required
  • Completion of Level 1 exam of CFA Program would be an asset
  • 1-2 years of experience within the areas of development or finance would be an asset, but is not required
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to perform duties in an accurate, professional and timely manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative and works well in a team setting
  • A keen interest to learn more about development, finance, construction and all facets of real estate
